Compare Two Models
This is the last step in the Get Started arc - loading a second model revision alongside the one you've been exploring, and reading your first diff.
Steps
- From the command palette, run Compare With… and choose a second checkpoint - ideally a different revision or fine-tune of the model you already have open, so the comparison is meaningful.
- Tensormorph aligns the two checkpoints (matching tensors by name and shape) and sets your original model as the baseline.
- Switch to the Diff view - the comparison-mode counterpart to the Architecture view you already know from Explore a Model Architecture. Regions that differ are shaded using Tensormorph's diverging color convention: cyan where the candidate increased relative to baseline, red where it decreased, dark where nothing changed.
- Select the same tensor you inspected in Inspect a Tensor. Switch to the Matrix and Heatmap view's Diff shading mode for a precise, cell-level read of exactly how that tensor changed.
- Open the Scalar Inspector on a changed cell - it now shows both revisions' values side by side, not just one.

If you can see a shaded diff in the Diff view and read one specific changed value in both revisions side by side, you've completed your first comparison - the same workflow behind reviewing a fine-tune, a quantization pass, or a merge proposal.
